Two different portals
This is not the Student Portal
The Admissions Portal is where you apply. The Student Portal is for enrolled students only and carries no application forms. You cannot create a student account yourself — it is created for you, automatically, at the moment the Registrar approves your application.

Your application, step by step
From application to student number

You
Create an applicant account
Your applicant account is not a student account. It exists so you can save a part-finished application, upload documents and follow your progress.

Complete the application
Faculty, programme, degree, campus, study mode and intake, together with your personal and academic details and your uploaded documents.

Pay the application fee
Your application is submitted and marked Awaiting Payment Verification. Nothing moves until the payment is confirmed.

Finance Office
Finance verifies the payment
The Finance Office checks the amount, the reference and the currency, and that the payment is not a duplicate. Your payment status changes from Pending to Verified.

Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar examines your application
Your application becomes visible to the Registrar only once Finance has verified the payment. The Registrar checks your qualifications, certificates, identity documents, English requirement and eligibility for the programme.

Office of the Registrar
Decision
The Registrar approves, asks you for further documents, or rejects the application with an explanation. If you are approved, your student account is created automatically and your student number, username and temporary password are emailed to you.
Tracking
What each status means
Draft Grey
The application has been started but not submitted. Only the applicant can see it.
Awaiting payment Red
Submitted, but the application fee has not been paid. Nothing moves until it is.
Payment under verification Orange
A payment has been recorded and Finance is checking the amount, reference, currency and whether it duplicates another.
Payment verified Blue
Finance has confirmed the payment. This is the gate: the application becomes visible to the Office of the Registrar only now.
Registrar reviewing Yellow
The Office of the Registrar is examining qualifications, certificates, identity documents and eligibility for the programme.
Additional documents required Purple
The Registrar has asked the applicant for further documents. The record stays in the Registrar’s queue so an applicant who never responds remains visible.
Awaiting Admissions Office Indigo
The Registrar has verified the record and forwarded it to the Admissions Office, which makes the final assessment and admits.
Approved Green
Admitted. The student number is issued, the account created and the welcome email sent, all automatically.
Conditionally admitted Green, hatched
Admitted and studying, with named conditions to meet by a stated date. The conditions stay visible to the student, the adviser and the Registrar until each is discharged.
Rejected Dark red
The application was not successful. A reason is always recorded.
Deferred Black
Admission has been held over to a later intake at the applicant’s or the university’s request.
Graduated Gold
The award has been conferred.
Your application fee is not refundable once the Registrar has begun examining your application. Refunds on withdrawal from study are set out in the Academic Regulations.
